Jackson County AIC Roster

The official roster is the Jackson County current AIC list. Oregon and Jackson County use the term Adults in Custody, often abbreviated AIC, rather than relying only on the word inmate. The public roster displays AIC names and Sheriff's Office numbers in a browseable format, with alphabet links for last-name filtering. A profile can show demographic details, identifiers, arrest agency, charge, bail amount, lodging date, and release date when applicable.

The public roster has limits. It does not replace a Circuit Court criminal record, a District Attorney charging decision, or a certified booking record. It also does not cover state prison custody, federal custody, immigration custody, or every historic jail record. Oregon House Bill 3273 changed public mugshot display rules, and the Jackson County roster states that AIC mugshots are no longer displayed because of HB 3273 effective January 1, 2022. A missing mugshot is therefore expected and should not be read as a missing custody record.

Use Jackson County Roster

A basic Jackson County inmate lookup should start with the roster and then confirm any court-related question with the correct court. Jail charge lines may show a statute or code prefix, offense title, agency code, bail amount, lodging date, and release date. They do not show every court event, plea, disposition, sentence, or future hearing. If the concern is a pending criminal case, search Jackson County court records after checking the roster.

1. Open the current AIC roster and browse by the first letter of the person's last name.
2. Select the matching AIC name when available and compare the SO number and displayed demographics.
3. Review arrest agency, charge, bail amount, lodging date, and release date fields.
4. Use the case number, charge, or arrest agency to search Circuit Court, Medford Municipal Court, or Justice Court records if a court file is needed.
5. Use Oregon DOC offender search or the federal BOP locator if the person is not in the county jail roster.

Inmate Profile Details

A Jackson County AIC profile may show enough detail to confirm a booking or custody status, but it should be read carefully. The header fields include the AIC name and SO number. Demographic fields can include age, race, sex, height, weight, hair, and eyes. Identifier fields include SO number, SID, and an FBI field, which may be blank. The charge table can show arrest agency, charge, bail amount, lodging date, and release date.

Common court fields such as future court dates, courtroom, holding location, pod, plea, sentence, and final disposition were not visible in the sampled roster rows. Those details usually belong to the court file, a release order, or a separate records request.

Jackson County Jail Facility

Jackson County Jail is located at 787 W. 8th Street, Medford, OR 97501. The county jail page says the facility was built in 1981 and can house up to 292 male and female Adults in Custody, while the sheriff homepage summary says up to 300. The Corrections Division serves all law-enforcement agencies in the area and averages about 70 full-time staff. Jail services include a kitchen staffed by AIC workers under a civilian cook, laundry services by AIC workers, indoor and outdoor recreation, a library, a modest law library, and a medical station with registered nurses, doctors, mental-health professionals, and dental equipment.

Bail and Release Records

Booking and release details can connect jail records to court records. Bail is listed as 10% of full bail when bail is allowed. Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., bail is posted at Jackson County Circuit Court at 100 S. Oakdale Avenue in Medford. After hours, bail can be posted at the jail lobby kiosk or through correctpay.com. Cash, debit, and credit cards are accepted at the jail lobby kiosk. Personal checks are not accepted unless written by a local attorney on a client trust account.

Medford Municipal charges require bail at Municipal Court during business hours or at the jail after hours. Release can also occur by own recognizance, bank wire transfer, dismissal, or charges not filed. Bank wire bail may take up to three working days, and the research notes list the state court phone as 541-776-7171 ext. 35028 for that contact path. Arraignment normally occurs at 1:30 p.m. the next scheduled court day after arrest in the Justice Building for Circuit Court matters. Medford Municipal Court arraignments are handled by video when the person is in custody.

Jackson County Video Visits

Jackson County Jail contracts with ViaPath Technologies for video visitation. Visitors create an account at gettingout.com and schedule visits. Required technology includes a computer with webcam and microphone or built-in equivalents, a supported browser, headphones if possible, and high-speed internet such as DSL or cable. Dial-up and satellite connections are not supported. All video visits are initiated by the visitor; AICs cannot initiate or schedule video visits. Visits may be monitored by staff and terminated.

Those instructions matter because Jackson County visitation is visitor-scheduled through the vendor system rather than started by the AIC from the housing unit.

Mail Rules for AICs

Mail rules are detailed and source-specific. Letters must be delivered by USPS, may be any size USPS delivers up to 10 inches tall by 13 inches wide, and must include the sender's name and return address. Letter-only mail goes to Jackson County Jail, State AIC Full Name, ID#, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Books have a separate route: they must be new, ordered and sent directly from a publisher or Amazon.com, include the publisher address on the package or label, be no larger than 9 by 12 inches, and have no plastic, metal binding, or hardbound cover. Books only can be mailed to 787 W. 8th Street, Medford, OR 97501.

The separate Phoenix, Maryland letter address and Medford book address are easy to confuse, so mail type should be checked before sending anything.

Incoming and outgoing mail is subject to opening and inspection by jail staff. Prohibited or restricted content includes criminal plans or instruction, threats, gang material, sexually explicit material, inflammatory content, code, foreign language staff cannot timely translate, fraudulent legal or official markings, stickers, decals, plastic coating, tape, glue, more than five photos, Polaroids, and foreign substances. Contraband may be returned, confiscated until release, destroyed if it presents a health or safety hazard, or held as evidence.

Money and Commissary

AIC account deposits and bail payments are separate topics. Cash deposits to an AIC account are accepted at the reception counter on visiting days only from a person who completed a visit, and the lobby kiosk is available 24 hours per day for cash deposits. Money orders and cashier's checks must be payable to Jackson County Jail for the named AIC and mailed to Jackson County Jail, 787 W. 8th St., Medford, OR 97501. Payroll, personal, business, and two-party checks are not accepted for AIC account mailing.

AIC Phone Access

Jackson County Jail does not accept social calls for AICs, and incoming messages are not relayed. AICs have collect-call-only phones in housing areas and may call during prescribed hours. Calls may be monitored and terminated. Prepaid accounts are handled through ConnectNetwork. If a person wants to block unwanted AIC calls, the research lists jail staff at 541-774-6872. Once placed, call blocks last at least a year.

Property Release Rules

Jackson County Jail property rules are strict. Tobacco, clothing, health and hygiene items, and other personal items are not accepted for AICs. AICs receive clothing, bedding, towels, and a hygiene kit at booking. Money may be released only within the first 48 hours and only by check; after 48 hours, money is released only to help post bail. Keys are the only personal property that may be released. Other property is held until release, and property tied to a DOC transfer may have to be discarded or mailed at AIC expense if not authorized.

The 48-hour money release limit is especially important because ordinary property release rules do not stay open throughout the entire custody period.

DOC and Federal Custody

If the Jackson County roster does not show the person, the next source depends on the custody type. Oregon Offender Search at docpub.state.or.us is the state-level route for sentenced offenders in Oregon Department of Corrections custody. DOC public-records requests are used when official or certified offender records are needed. Jail Records and Court Files

Jail records and court files answer different questions. The AIC roster can show that a person was lodged, what charge line appeared, whether bail was displayed, and whether a release date is shown. A court file can show charging instruments, arraignment, release orders, pleas, motions, judgment, sentence, probation conditions, set-aside filings, and docket history. The District Attorney may make charging decisions after arrest, and the court record may differ from the jail's initial charge line.

Oregon public-records law provides baseline access to nonexempt records held by public bodies, but jail and court records may be limited by privacy rules, sealed-record orders, juvenile restrictions, protected personal information rules, and law-enforcement exemptions. Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, minor information, mental health material, adoption records, juvenile records, and protected addresses are not ordinary public roster data. For official copies, use the Sheriff's Office or court records request channel that matches the record type.
